Congratulate Dr. Li Defang and Mr. Liu Jin for successful publication in Nature Communications

March 21, 2016

A collaborative research done by Research assistant Prof. Li Defang and Ph.D. student Liu Jin in CCIR was published in “Nature Communications” (Impact factor 11.470). The work entitled “Osteoclast-derived exosomal miR-214-3p inhibits osteoblastic bone formation” demonstrated that the decreased bone formation has a close relation with osteoblastic activity and the osteoclast-secreted exosomal miR-214-3p in the elderly women with osteoporosis. This study not only provides a new idea for the pathogenesis of osteoporosis induced by age-related bone loss in elderly women but also supplies a novel strategy and new target for osteoporosis treatment.
