Prof. Zhang Ge, Dr. Liang Chao and Dr. Li Fangfei attended the first Guangdong-Hong Kong Traditional Chinese Medicine Oncology Salon held in Guangzhou on 25 March, 2018. Together with experts in oncology from Guangdong Provincial TCM Hospital and Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, they discussed the latest progress and advantages in the field of cancer research in Chinese and western medicine, seeking collaborations on new projects. Dr. Liang Chao introduced his work entitled “Tumor cell-targeted delivery of CRISPR/Cas9 by aptamer-functionalized lipopolymer for therapeutic genome editing of VEGFA in osteosarcoma” and “From mechanistic understandings to precision medicine: Ligustrazine facilitates Leflunomide attenuating progressive bone erosion in rheumatoid arthritis individuals with high serum CRP level”. Dr. Li Fangfei presented her work entitled “Toward the next generation of smart anti-tumor drugs: a highly water-soluble nucleolin aptamer-paclitaxel conjugate with a serum-stable linker for tumor-specific targeting in ovarian cancer”.
