Project “Research and development of aptamer-triptolide conjugate for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA)”, which is jointly carried out by Institute for Advancing Translational Medicine in Bone & Joint Diseases, HKBU and Institute of Basic Research in Clinical Medicine, CACMS, has won the support from the National Science and Technology Major Projects.

Dr. Yang Zhijun develops novel nano-vesicles for controlled release of medication for pulmonary diseases via inhalation...

Dr. Yang Zhijun, Associate Professor of the Teaching and Research Division, has applied nanotechnology to develop a novel formulation of dehydrated lipid vesicles for inhalation administration of drugs for the treatment of pulmonary diseases, with the effect of the active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) lasting up to 72 hours in the lungs. The invention, which has been granted a patent by the State Intellectual Property Office of China.

The Croucher Foundation is an independent private foundation established by the late Noel Croucher in 1979 to promote the standard of the natural sciences, technology and medicine in Hong Kong. A collaborative project from Institute for HKBU and the Shanghai institute of Meteria Medica of Chinese academy of Sciences was successfully funded by Croucher Foundation.

Dr. Ge Zhang’s Lab has published findings on a non-coding RNA regulating bone formation from clinical specimens in Nature Medicine....

Dr. Ge Zhang (M.D.), who is one of the corresponding authors of the newly published paper ‘miR-214 targets ATF4 to inhibit bone formation’ in Nature Medicine (Jan. 2013), has led his lab in TMBJ to complete a translational study on identification of a non-coding RNA regulating osteoblastic bone formation in clinical bone specimens with his mainland collaborator Prof. Yingxian Li.
